Tokio Hotel Is Milli Vanilli - Not Bloody Likely

LOS ANGELES, Ca., Dec. 11 (TOTI) --

Overweight blogger Perez Hilton has created a bit of a sensation by
leveling charges against German band Tokio Hotel accusing the quartet
of being this generation's Milli Vanilli.

It's worth pointing out that the concept of Bill Kaulitz
lip-synching along with his own voice is very different than what Milli
Vanili was accused of. Milli Vanilli perpetrated musical fraud by
pretending to sing songs that they hadn't recorded. In fact, when
pressed to perform, one of the members of the band was clearly awful.

Milli Vanilli upset their fans because they misled them. They
pretended to be singers when in fact they were merely models,
hand-picked for their good looks and musical talent. No one in their
right mind could attempt to accuse Bill Kaulitz or Tokio Hotel of not
being able to sing or play instruments. The band is obviously very
accomplished and more than capable of performing live.

The truth is, many performers today use playback as part of their
live performances. There could be any number of reasons why, but they
all boil down to wanting to do a great show for fans, usually.

Clearly most fans of the Tokio Hotel won't support the decision by
the band to do anything but perform live. Obviously fans want to see
their rock heroes out there and giving it 100% live. But before
pointing the finger, let's understand any number of mitigating
circumstances could have caused such a performance.

And the charges of "fakery" by Hilton ( a completely fake name, by
the way) are inaccurate when he does a comparison to Milli Vanilli.
Tokio Hotel has real talent and makes real music. Milli Vanilli was a
scam perpetrated against the music-buying public. It looks as if the
huge girth around his waist has finally cut off the oxygen supply to
Mr. Hilton's brain. Or maybe Teddy Hilton is ghost-writing his blog.
Either way, we'll be hearing a lot more from Tokio Hotel in the future,
whether Mr. Hilton likes it or not.
